  • TV Guide called him “The best young stand-up comic in years!!”  People Magazine called him an “Instant Comedic Star”.  The NY Times said “His shows are packing them in!!”.  The Philadelphia Inquirer raved, “His stand-up show is a must see!”  These are just some of the quotes that don’t apply at all to Corey Alexander, because well, I haven’t had time to bribe them yet!!

  • But, hopefully, that will come soon enough.  It’s a dream I’ve thought of doing for a long time, and started innocently enough (don’t they all?).  Ever since I saw a bunch of comedians on an cable special when I was a 13 year old pimple-faced babysittin’ teenager, I quickly became fascinated with stand-up comedy.  I immediately turned every free moment I had to watching and enjoying stand-up on TV, radio, cassette tapes (remember those?), etc.  I would memorize many acts and perform them in front of my mirror, with my sister’s Barbie Rock and Roll mic as my prop.  Most guys undressed her, I played with her mic.  Luckily for me, there was no major warping at an early age.

  • I was too intimidated to perform in high school plays, but I knew I wanted to be on stage.   When I was a senior in high school, a buddy of mine and I snuck into the Comedy Cabaret in King of Prussia at the old Sportsters.  After posing as Dr. Front Table Please and Dr. Yes I’m 21, we were able to crash the show and take in three acts.  It was awesome.  I knew then, this was my career.  And, it might be a way to score hot chics!!

  • I finally overcame my stage fright in college and began to take some acting courses.  Over my four years, I ended up minoring in Theater.  I did a few independent studies, while writing two plays and acting in several others (I had the pleasure of being such a good actor, I was cast (literally) my senior year as a dead person in my final show; not only did my parents waste a night driving up to see me, but I couldn’t believe how easy it was to memorize my lines!!!).  When I graduated, I decided not to pursue the acting circle, and stay the conservative root of the financial world.

  • Finally, at a party in 2000, a couple of buddies and I decided to do an Improv course in 2001 (never underestimate the power of getting drunk and making wild promises).  It wasn’t stand up, but it was a start.  After having so much fun, I enrolled in a stand-up course and got my first show.  It’s been heaven ever since.

  • Now, I’ve been on the radio (WMMR), at Corporate Functions, and a wide variety of Comedy Clubs throughout the Tri-State area.  I had a dream, and it finally became quite a reality.  Of course, it wasn’t quite what Martin Luther King’s dream turned out to be, but a dream come true nonetheless.

  • Thanks for taking the time to read this.  If you care to turn this into a movie, please send all copyrights and contracts, with a check for $1,000,000,000 to me at your earliest convenience………..actually, ASAP!!  Chop chop!!
